Our most recent addition to the What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2026 series details all the most useful enhancements related to the creation of sketches, features, and parts, each of which is critical to successful design work. These include new tools for selecting features and bodies of multibody parts, improved consistency for face and edge IDs of imported parts (resulting in more stable downstream features), and a brand-new command for splitting out multiple configurations into unique, individual files in a single operation – And this is only a fraction of what’s included this year.

In response to SOLIDWORKS’ more frequent enhancement release cadence, this video also highlights several enhancements that were included with service packs throughout the 2025 season that you might have missed:

  • “Flip Endpoint Tangent” option for quickly modifying the direction of tangent arcs
  • A new keyboard shortcut to automatically create squares using the Rectangle command
  • Sketch Options retained for Hole Wizard features for fewer clicks with repeated use

This video is a comprehensive overview of the enhancements included this year for sketches, features, and parts, but it’s only one of several broad category videos within our What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2026 series. Be on the lookout for additional category videos covering Assemblies, Drawings, and more, and be sure to take a look at our previous category video on Fundamental and User Interface Enhancements along with our collection of short and sweet 2-Minute Tech Tips covering individual enhancements.
