SolidProfessor Partners with SkillsUSA as Sponsor for 2015 Technical Drafting Competition
Nampa, Idaho – This year, SolidProfessor and Quest Integration is sponsoring SkillsUSA’s Technical Drafting Competition. This competition recognizes outstanding students for excellence and professionalism in the field of technical drafting. Focusing on finding solutions for industry-developed problems, students will apply appropriate technical drafting skills and tools including computer-aided drafting.
SkillsUSA, whose mission is to empower its members to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible American citizens is hosting its 51st annual SkillsUSA Championships this year. Contests begin locally, and continue through the state and national levels. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in over 50 different competitions ranging from Commercial Banking to Engineering Technology/Design.
Last year, 6,000 contestants participated in 98 separate events. The philosophy of the Championships is to reward students for excellence, to involve industry in directly evaluating student performance, and to keep training relevant to employers’ needs.
SolidProfessor will provide two Gold Prizes for winners of the competition. Gold Prizes will include a copy of SOLIDWORKS Student Edition along with a SolidProfessor Premium Membership. SolidProfessor provides guided online learning experiences for software used in engineering and design.
