SolidProfessor November Newsletter: MATLAB Essentials and SOLIDWORKS Update Training Available

|
By

Happy belated Halloween! Read below for information about new MATLAB and SOLIDWORKS courses, including 2017 Update Training; changes to the CSV export available from Tests Tab; and a case study from an individual using SolidProfessor to learn how to use cloud-based Fusion 360.

In the next few months, we’ll be making changes to establish different permissions in your Admin Tools, allowing your team to have administrators, sub-administrators (some Admin Tools permissions, but not all), and users. If you’re interested in previewing these changes and providing feedback, please let me know or set up some time here.

New Content Added This Month

We added several new courses this month about which we’re excited. Click on the links below to head on over to the library and check them out!

  • MATLAB Essentials: take your MATLAB skills to the next level with in-depth conceptual sections covering topics such as vectors, arrays, matrices, graphing,  input and output, conditionals, selection structures, loops, best programming practices, and debugging tools. Learn more in our free webinar tomorrow!
  • SOLIDWORKS MBD: this course will equip you to capture all of the model geometry, annotate it as needed, then package it in a 3D PDF that can be shared with manufacturers, other designers, and even customers to streamline production, cut cycle time, reduce errors, and support industry standards.
  • SOLIDWORKS Visualize: formerly known as Bunkspeed, SOLIDWORKS Visualize is a stand-alone rendering software that’s included with a SOLIDWORKS Professional or Premium license. Learn to create photo-realistic renderings from 3D models or even create a model that appears as a real-life product by combining tools like background settings, reflective environments, emissive materials, motion blur, and much more.

2017 SOLIDWORKS Update Training Now Available

We also have a 2017 SOLIDWORKS Update Training course now available that you can use to learn about new functionality in detail and get the most out of your software upgrade. Jonas Blankenship, CAD Administrator at Zodiac Pools,  shares:

“The Update Training course has been really helpful for us as it allows us to ensure that we’re maximizing our SOLIDWORKS investment. SolidProfessor has significantly improved our team’s efficiency within SOLIDWORKS. They’re much more comfortable using different tools, shortcuts, mouse gestures, hot-keys, etc. Even employees that have been working with SOLIDWORKS for years are picking up these time savers and gaining efficiency.”

Updated Tests Tab Export

Similar to changes we made last month to the Reports tab export, we also recently made changes to our Tests tab export in response to your feedback. On both CSV files, we now provide raw data that’s easier to filter and manipulate to analyze your team’s performance:

Thinking about checking out Fusion360? Check out our case study with Will Gibbons, who used SolidProfessor to expand the expertise and augment his software repertoire.

Thanks for reading! If you have any questions, I’m just a call or an email away!
