Switching to teaching Onshape or xDesign during distance learning? We’ve got you covered.
Many teachers are transitioning from desktop software to browser-based solutions so students can access CAD programs from any device during distance learning. With browser-based CAD solutions like Onshape and xDesign, all students need is a WiFi connection.
But trying to teach your students a new CAD platform — especially if you aren’t familiar with it — is a lot to take on.
To help teachers like you make a seamless transition, we launched two new online learning paths for Onshape and xDesign. These distance learning courses can easily integrate into any existing syllabus and are available on the platform now for SolidProfessor for Schools members.
What’s included in the new distance learning courses release?
There are two learning paths in our distance learning course releases: one for Onshape and the other for xDesign.
Not only are there hours of guided tutorials, but each learning path includes roughly 50 practice exercises, a course exam, and the opportunity for your students to earn a SolidProfessor Technical Certificate.
Just like Onshape and xDesign, the SolidProfessor online courses, practice exercises, and exams can be completed on any device including Chromebooks, Mac products, and tablets.
Distance Learning Course: Beginner to 3D Designer with Onshape
With the Beginner to 3D Designer with Onshape learning path, your students will start designing in 3D by mastering key spatial visualization techniques. Then, they’ll learn how to use the universal language of engineering graphics to communicate their design’s geometry. Once they understand those foundational skills, your students will learn how to design parts, assemblies, and drawings in Onshape.
This Onshape learning path includes
- 4 hours and 22 minutes of expert-guided video lessons
- 56 practice exercises
- A self-grading comprehension exam
- Technical Certificate in Beginner to 3D Designer with Onshape
Beginner to 3D Designer with Onshape features these expert-led courses:
> Course 1: Spatial Visualization + 9 practice exercises
> Course 2: Engineering Graphics + 18 practices exercises
> Course 3: Introduction to Onshape 2020 + 26 practice exercises
Distance Learning Course: Beginner to 3D Designer with xDesign
With the Beginner to 3D Designer with xDesign learning path, your students will learn the spatial visualization skills they’ll need before they begin designing in 3D. Then, they’ll learn how to speak the universal language of engineering graphics. Engineering graphics is used by design engineers to communicate their design’s geometry. Once they understand those foundational skills, your students will learn how to design parts, assemblies, and drawings in xDesign.
This xDesign learning path includes
- 3 hours and 54 minutes of expert-guided video lessons
- 47 practice exercises
- A self-grading comprehension exam
- Technical Certificate in Beginner to 3D Designer with xDesign
Beginner to 3D Designer with xDesign features these expert-led courses:
> Course 1: Spatial Visualization + 9 practice exercises
> Course 2: Engineering Graphics + 18 practices exercises
> Course 3: Introduction to xDesign 2020 + 20 practice exercises
